It's not a good idea to install a new liner over an old one. If your old liner got a hole in it, chances are the liner may have been punctured from a sharp edge on the pool wall. If this is the case, your old liner needs to be removed, and the walls and ground of the pool inspected for any sharp edges prior to the installation of the new liner.
