Good organization keeps a bathroom neat.
The bathroom is not only the smallest room in the house, it's one of the most used. Everyone will visit this room at some time during the day, and many items essential to personal well-being, from toiletries to aspirin, are stored here. A well-organized bathroom is easier to clean and makes getting ready in the morning go more smoothly. The key to good bathroom organization is to make the most of the small space.

Hooks

Attach hooks to the back of the bathroom door for hanging robes and towels. Add more hooks to the walls for towels. Hang the hair dryer from a hook near the mirror. A row of decorative brass cup hooks provides storage for necklaces and bracelets. Hooks take up little space and put items up off the floor or counter but still within easy reach.

Shoe Organizer

A shoe organizer with rows of pockets for shoes is a handy way to organize toiletries. The pockets provide plenty of space for bottles of shampoo and soap, hair gel, body lotion and bubble bath. Look for a shoe organizer with clear plastic pockets that will allow you to see the contents at a glance. Hang the organizer on the back of the bathroom door or inside a cabinet door.

Baskets

Baskets are a neat way to organize items in a small bathroom without a lot of cabinet space. Set a large basket on the floor by the bathtub and fill it with rolled up towels and washcloths. Use smaller baskets on the back of the toilet to hold extra toilet paper, bars of soap and cleaning supplies. Smaller baskets on the counters can hold toiletries and makeup.

Bins

Like baskets, bins can serve as catch-alls for a variety of items. Colorful plastic bins add a decorative element to your bathroom as well. The plastic is easy to clean. You can stack bins on the floor or line them up on shelves.

Shelves

Mount shelves over the toilet to turn unused space into practical storage. Stack folded towels and washcloths on these shelves and add baskets or bins to store smaller items. You can also mount corner shelves near the sink to store your jewelry, makeup and toiletries. A corner shelf in the shower or over the tub keeps shampoo and soap handy.
